Hosted by Kenan Thompson, LeBron and Nike Basketball Designer Jason Petrie sat down to chat all about the shoe’s design inspiration, details and technology. The King was of course wearing the sneaker of the day in its launch colorway, while Petrie pulled out a pair of ‘Superman’ Zoom LeBron III’s from the closet. words_Nick DePaula As Allen Iverson’s whole career is perhaps in a state of uncertainty this summer, with the legitimate possibility that he’ll actually retire, Reebok has decided to drop the Answer XIII already, as compared to the signature shoe’s normal February release during the past few years. Designed by Kohei Kanata, the Answer XIII features a lightweight synthetic upper, thick memory foam padded collar and full-length low profile Hexride cushioning. The shoe is also equipped with Reebok’s Smooth Fit lining for less irritation and better comfort. The insole is actually the most interesting aspect of the shoe, as it’s several millimeters thick for an improved padded feel, and also features a TPU shank just under the arch incorporated into the sockliner. The Answer XIII will retail for $100, and the Black/ Red colorway will be available this fall.

This summer Nike decided to remind the kids of the inevitable, back to school is right around the corner. To do so they released the Nike “Grade School” Pack , a Nike Blazer Hi, Nike Dunk low, and Nike Dunk Hi. A unique and fun pack, problem was the shoes were only released in kids sizes. Since then Nike had released the Nike Blazer Hi “Scantron” as a quickstrike in Men’s sizes. The shoe features a grey scantron type pattern throughout the upper, red laces, and a white midsole.

The Nike Sky Force Hi ‘Tecmo Bo’ which we featured last month is now available at select Nike retailers. This is one of the many recent releases from Nike which pay tribute to Bo Jackson and the Tecmo Bowl video game on Nintendo. The Sky Force Hi uses a classic Los Angeles Raiders color scheme with a black nubuck upper and metallic silver accents on the lace tabs and Nike Swoosh. A pixelized design of a running back is included on the tongue tag and various pixels in grey are placed around the Nike Swoosh. Hats have been making a slow resurgence over the past several years, much to my delight. I am a big aficianado of the lovely ladylikeness or saucy jauntiness of a hat, as well as its practicality (goodbye facial moles!) and ability to complete an outfit. There’s something so cool, so nonchalant and yet so look-at-me about a hat. I expect that as more and more people start to wear them, it won’t be so noticeable anymore to wear one. They will become a much more mainstream accessory, hopefully, and will be paired well with shoes. Jennifer Aniston was recently photographed carrying a straw hat, Beyonce and Rihanna love to wear them, and many a celebrity from Sienna Miller to Leonardo DiCaprio is frequently seen enjoying the cool Havana ease of a straw hat.

Earlier this month we reported that their would be numerous new House of Hoops US Locations . We also reported on the House of Hoops in Taipei opening. Now we have word the HOH is headed to a few sports in Europe and to celebrate two Nike Hyperize have been designed in special colorways. The House of Hoops will hit England and France. Specifically, stores are coming soon to Oxford Street in London, England and Les Halles in Paris, France. To celebrate the openings of the two new locations the House of Hoops closest to Europe, the Harlem location, will have two special editions of the Nike Hyperize Supreme in color schemes resembling the two new locations.

Last week, CCS blessed the web with a sneak peak at Supra’s Holiday 2009 Lineup . Many of you stated that you will be highly anticipating this collection; however, while we continue to impatiently wait for the aforementioned releases, CCS now has the Supra Skytop “Army Blue” in stock for $140. Obviously, this particular Skytop features a 100% army blue base mixed with a vulcanized gum rubber outsole. To coincide with the latter area, this shoe also owns white waxed shoelaces. Is this one of the better Skytop colorways of the summer 2009 releases?
