NFL Commish Roger Goodell has given Michael Vick the green light to play next season, but we have yet to hear whether any of Vick’s endorsement deals are making a return. Before the dog fighting bit Vick in 2007, he had a decent run with Nike with a number of on field and after the game sneakers. A couple weeks ago, Gatorade held an event to honor Michael Jordan’s induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame in Chicago, IL. At an undisclosed location, a special Michael Jordan display was created from 14,641 Gatorade bottles. There is nothing like getting a box in the mail and having no idea what is in it. A big box from Gatorade was delivered a few hours ago so yeah – today is one of those Christmas in July days. And with a big “23″ on the side of the box I knew it had to be something good. Usually when a box like this comes it is a few pairs of shoes – but this box was way too heavy for that. The dude that dropped it off even asked if I ordered a few cases of Gatorade because it was that heavy. In sad news that broke minutes ago, the King of Pop is no longer with us. I know what many of you may be thinking. Michael Jackson on a sneaker site? Well, all things aside he did have a shoe with LA Gear way back when, but sometimes comes a man so influential that his moves crossed lines from a category to culture. Many of us may have many memories of Michael Jackson over the years, but for myself, one of my favorites memories of Jack-o was his video for Jam ( see video ) that featured Michael Jordan. Just to think that the most influential man in basketball in the same video as one of the most influential men in music is something that still amazes me to this day
