Around this time last year, Jordan Brand brought back the Jumpman Team Pro to many sneaker enthusiast’s liking. Many of you labeled it one of the better sneakers to play in and rightfully so. Likewise, every JB member wore it at least once during the 2008-09 NBA season. Now, JB has released the first colorway of the Jordan Jumpman Pro Low at select retailers. The first to release will be this black/white colorway.

Ever wonder how you can make some of your favorite sneakers new again. And I don’t mean begging the shoe gods that they retro your sneaker. I mean really putting in some elbow grease and sweat, to help bring back your beaters to heaters. Here on the forums we have the a whole section dedicated to just that and with people that can assist you.  Normally I send my shoes to a person that will restore my shoes for a fee, but this time I’m going to attemp to do a 180 on these two pairs of Air Jordan IIIs on my own. Will I fail or succeed? I only know is that I will be using this forum thread to help me throughout the process.

One can argue that Lebron James’s signature sneaker line is parallel to his basketball skill set. It seems, with each passing year, ‘King James’ continues to get better and better; likewise, his latest shoe always seems to be better than his last. However, his sixth signature shoe, the Nike Zoom LeBron VI was a very quality sneaker performance-wise and makeup-wise. While each person is entitled to his/her opinion on style preference, could the Nike Air Max LeBron VII surpass the Zoom LeBron VI in performance capabilities? During the LeBron James Innovation and Inspiration Summit, we got the chance to put the Air Max LeBron VII through an interactive wear-test session for 45 minutes to an hour at St. Vincent St. Mary’s High School (LeBron’s high school).

For the past several years, Jordan Brand has brought back a number of retro Jordans, but in some cases, several at once…on one shoe. Blending together the elements of a number of sneakers, JB has been able to demonstrate that it is possible to create something new from a combination of the old. For my second official post on Sole Collector I thought it would be great to show some design sketching and rendering. I know a lot of you like to see concepts so here is one that I did a while back. It’s a descriptive step by step tutorial explaining my process. If all goes well, I hope to do many more in the future…. maybe even videos! First, begin your design with a simple line drawing. Decide on a perspective view for this demo I chose a typical Lateral side-view.

China retailers are about to feel the CP3 effect! The Jordan Brand designed a version of Jordan CP3 II exclusively for the Chinese market. The particular sneaker was released on August 3rd, 2009 for $135. The shoe’s design exemplifies charisma, fearlessness, intelligence, patience, invincibility and selflessness all of which are characters that describe Zhao Yun, who was an infamous character in Chinese literature from which the design drew inspiration from. The Jordan brand specifically chose CP3 II shoes to represent Zhao Yun because supposedly Chris Paul demonstrate the same characteristic. All I can say is this shoe will best represent me!

Nike Dunk High Premium in Varsity Maize and Total Orange, can you say BRIGHT? Made with varsity maize and white upper with orange heel. Adding to the shoe’s plethora of colors are black vamp and tongue, blue lining and insole. It has white midsole and the varsity maize outsole. That’s a whole lot of colors for $149. Best to wear this on expeditions just incase you get lost, you’ll be very easy to find! Time to stand out people, bright colors are in!

Paul Rodriguez’s third signature shoe with Nike SB, the Nike SB P-Rod III , will officially release at Nike SB doors nationwide tomorrow, August 8th, but there will be an early release of the shoe at a special event at Primitive in Encinco, CA. The Nike SB P-Rod III will be available for early purchase and Paul will be on hand for autographs from noon-3PM.
