Within the past year, we have seen a number of Ohio State Buckeyes inspired sneakers such as the Nike Zoom Soldier II PEs and the Black/Red-White colorway of the Air Force 1 involved in the Nike Air Force 1 “LeBron” Pack . Now, Nike has designed a Blazer Hi model that also features Ohio State inspirations. Coinciding with Ohio State’s color scheme, this particular Blazer Hi possesses a predominately grey base mixed with a vibrant, red sole. However, one of the more interesting features on this shoe is the plethora of stickers seen throughout the upper. If you recall, this attribute is most notably associated with the tradition of slapping a Buckeye sticker on the helmets of top players in the game. Yet, these stickers are skull and crossbones made of barbells with a miniscule football helmet

It was stated in early April that Michael Jordan would be inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame this September. In honor of this great feat, the James Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame has unveiled a new exhibit that allows fans and visitors to remember Jordan’s extensive legacy and accomplishments. This newly-designed exhibit, which is a partnership product of Jordan Brand, Nike and the previously mentioned Basketball Hall of Fame, is officially named ‘ Become Legendary: The Story of Michael Jordan ‘. Included in this timeless portrayal will be various footwear, apparel and a collection of photos, videos, quotes and artifacts pertaining to Michael Jordan himself. It was only right for the Hall of Fame to give Jordan his own section seeing that he contributed more than you can imagine to the game of basketball. “As Jordan Brand embarks on the silver anniversary celebration of the AIR JORDAN franchise, we are thrilled with the Basketball Hall of Fame’s efforts to honor Michael Jordan, the Hall’s Class of 2009 and their contributions to the game of basketball,” said Sean Tresvant, Director of Marketing for Jordan Brand

After the successful release of the Blue Chip and allowing the sneakers to run their course Nike debuts the Blue Chip II. The color scheme shown here is a mens model which is set to release later this year in October. The sneakers feature a mixture of leather and patent leather in white and black with red accents in the form of laces, heel branding, contrast stitching and within the visible air unit. The black paneling also has a textured finish to it which somewhat resembles a safari print. If you were a fan of the Blue Chip but felt the sneakers lacked support the Blue Chip II may just be the answer to your prayers. Watch for this version to hit retailers October 1st for $85. As much as some of us try to fight it, Kanye West creates trends. His latest? Timberlands in the summer. The rapping- fashionisto has been seen out and about wearing worn-in 6 Inch Premium Timberlands at awards shows, and other various paparazzi-friendly spots. West is not the only one wearing timbo’s though, Lil Wayne also seems to be rocking the construction boots in the middle of this heat wave as well. It’s a heavyweight match-up, arguably the two biggest rappers in the game rocking the same footwear, different ways. Who wore it better? Check the pics , vote then hit up the comments and let us know your thoughts.

words_Nick DePaula Just because the NBA season may be over doesn’t mean we won’t still be taking a look at what ballers around the league are wearing — even if that means stooping to Summer League ball! Viewable through a live streaming feed via the Orlando Magic’s website , the NBA Summer League is absolutely a farce and is being “commentated” by Dante & Galante. Their commentary consists of reading fan emails during the game, making up stats, making fun of players and talking about their favorite slices of pizza. Real pros. As journeymen, rookies and D-league hopefuls battle it out all week long in Orlando, lets take a look at what a few of the players have been rocking over the past few days. words_Nick DePaula Shoe: adidas TS Lightning Creator Size: 13 Wearings: 5 The TS Lightning Creator is one of those in-between shoes for me. If I had a free pick for my hoops choice for the night, I probably wouldn’t grab it, and yet there’s still some things that I’d consider definite bright spots in the shoe. Just as you would expect in a guard shoe, the shoe boasts some pretty dependable and durable traction with its wavy herringbone pattern, and it also offers a nice court feel and low-to-the-ground stance. All positives in a lightweight package meant for the game’s most frantic floor generals like Chauncey Billups and Derrick Rose. Where things went awry for me was more in the comfort and fit departments, as the shoe feels there , with a noticeably plastic lateral outrigger and mechanical feeling Formotion system at the heel. While the shoe’s heel-to-toe transition is perceptibly smooth during play and the full length adiprene foam cushioning that resides along the base of the midsole provides a solid level of impact protection, in my handful of wears, I still couldn’t get over the harsh feel of the lateral TPU piece that’s placed just above the outrigger.

words by Steve Jaconetta Summer is officially here (even if the weather isn’t proving it for some of us) and with that so are Jordan Brand footwear releases for the months of July, August & September. During these three months we have some very exciting releases including a slew of I’s, two more DMP’s, an international only III and much much more. It’s now July 1st and kicking things off this month are new colorways of the Jordan Phly Legend, Jordan Pro Classic and Jordan Jeter Captain. Along with that we have the highly anticipated 4th of July release of the “Metallic” or “DTRT” Air Jordan 1 Retro High’s in not two but three colors! The white/green and white/red colorways will be available worldwide while the newly seen white/purple colorway will be an exclusive international release and available everywhere in the world except over here in the U.S. Retail on the 1’s will be $110 and they are all limited releases available at select urban accounts and such. A week after that we have the Air Jordan 1 Retro High DMP aka the “60+” releasing on July 11th. The colorways were inspired by both the team MJ was playing with when he scored the 60 points in the game (Chicago) and the team MJ played against in that game (Boston).
