News yesterday that Nike filed a patent for a lighting and fastening system on a shoe turned the blogosphere upside with the prospect of a Nike Air Mag release. Rocked by Marty McFly in Back to the Future II , the Air Mag “McFly” has never released to the public but its likeness has inspired many great Nike makeups. The space age sneaker’s grey and speckled blue colorway has been carried over to some of Nike’s top models creating a buzz everytime. In the spirit of the good news we take a look back at the best Nike’s inspired by the McFly. “Marty McFly” Nike Hyperdunk The first sneaker to sport the Air Mag colorway was the famed Nike Hyperdunk . McFly inspiration touched the already futuristic model with Universal Studios allowing Nike to use the grey colorway and teal speckled midsole. A glow in the dark outsole and ’2015′ tagging on the tongue added nostalgia to the design. Kobe Bryant arriving at the UNDFTD release event in the DeLorean car from the movie provided bonus recall for the big screen sneaker. The increasingly-popular Asics Gel Lyte III was spotted in three new colorways today, all of which are available at Japan’s mita . All three utilize at least one bright accent color and a multitude of materials, including patent leather on the black and purple pair. The other two rely mostly on suede and mesh for their builds. Nike Air Max 90 – Granite/Royal Blue-Lucky Green words_Brandon Richard The Air Max 90 recently made headlines when news broke that the “Laser Blue” colorway of the timeless runner would be making a return. However, if we know anything about the Air Max 90, it’s that it rarely arrives alone. Driving that point home are these visuals of another new Air Max 90 colorway that has recently turned up overseas. A shoe that looks like a salute to the Seattle Seahawks or early 70s Atlanta Hawks, this Air Max 90 features a white mesh upper, accented by granite and royal blue tumbled leather. Lucky green works the inner liner, lower lace tab, heel tab and Max Air window surround. White returns for the midsole, and sits atop a royal blue rubber outsole. Though these have already hit retailers in Europe, there is no indicated stateside release date. New Balance 998GNR Made in USA words_Brandon Richard While “Made In UK” New Balance styles have been seen frequently this year, a new “Made In USA” release set for a 2011 release is sure to turn heads as well.
