Did you think we forgot about the Ignes customized giveaway? Well, there is no way we could have let this slip our minds. You might remember a few weeks ago we polled Purse Blog readers about what kind of bags, colors, textures, accessories you’d like to see custom made for an amazing travel set giveaway . The results were tallied and the results were handed over to the designer. As her team got started on manufacturing these bags, we thought we’d bring you all along through the process.

It’s been a while since we had a good ol’ fashioned bashing of an insultingly overpriced Versace bag, and as they say, there’s no time like the present. So let’s talk about the Versace Rose-Embellished Jacquard Hobo , shall we? I know you guys enjoy this as much as I do. Between the black fabric and the cheap-looking silver-and-black roses that look like they were attached with a safety pin, this bag looks like it was manufactured by Guess or XOXO and is meant to be sold to thirteen-year-olds in the juniors department at Macy’s. And maybe it’s just me, but I think the patent trim at the bottom is really what does it in, juxtaposed with the fabric that makes up the body. Now, there’s nothing inherently wrong with looking like one of those brands – I remember being thirteen myself and thinking those bags were so awesome – except that this bag is made by a major Italian design house that’s known the world over and intended to be sold to grown women with sizable checking accounts. It simply doesn’t hold up to the standard that we should all have for $1800 bags – oh, didn’t I mention that

Only a handful of designers that I can think off the top of my head when it comes to exotic leathers. Amongst of the panel of experts are Nancy Gonzales, Devi Kroell, and Carlos Falchi. When you look at this Carlos Falchi Python Satchel , you would know what I’m talking about. This is another great bag from this designer. The details and design make it cohesive with the brand ’s design principle. Strong design but what I love the most about this bag is the exotic leather; the patterns and textures of the snakeskin are fabulous.

Sometimes, it’s hard to pair a red tote if you’re not really the type of girl to wear a lot of red. This bag in this case, would be easier to match because of its contrast-color, brown pipings that would perfectly match your brownish and neutral-beige outfits. I think it’s a good idea to have one bright accessory to liven up your otherwise monotonous look.
