Recently, I came across this pair of ankle boots that are available for pre-order from Saks Fifth Avenue. The color would complement the jewel-tone fashions that are trendy for fall. Pre-order these Dior booties now from Saks Fifth Avenue for $1,040. Image: Saks Fifth Avenue Post from: Shoe Blitz

Kobe Week: Nike Zoom Kobe II

words_Nick DePaula photography_Steve Mullholand As Ken Link and Kobe Bryant paired up once again to work on his second signature sneaker, the Zoom Kobe II, they looked to innovate on many new fronts and take Bryant’s footwear to new levels of court feel and construction. Kobe had lost some weight and bulk from the previous year, and now he was looking to take advantage of his explosive first step and slashing style of play. Rather than build directly from the Zoom Kobe I and its more sturdy construction, Link looked to Bryant’s favorite weapon of choice for his more stealth frame: the Huarache 2K4. “If you take the 2K4, a great shoe, how can you make it more flexible, less layers, lighter, lower to the ground and provide better cushioning?” questioned Link. “Could you really change one of the best playing shoes we’ve done? And could you take it to the next level for Kobe?” Surely those were the type of questions Link was hired to solve, so he set out to find the solutions for Kobe’s current set of needs. In order to make a shoe that sat lower to the ground and offered greater flexibility, Link and his crew of developers at Nike decided to incorporate the methodologies of both Nike Free and Nike Considered, which at first appeared to be a daunting task. Almost immediately, it was decided that this new approach to the shoe would fundamentally change the way it would be constructed, and for the first time in basketball a shoe was made with reduced waste, and without toxic chemicals or bonds, as the Zoom Kobe II was instead fully stitched throughout. The upper was comprised of a series of panels that worked to provide flexibility and targeted support, albeit in a single-layer construction. “The single-layer Considered upper was a way to get to a lighter, better system,” says Link.

Pony x 9 – Limited Edition Stitchpunk Sneaker

In honor of the new epic adventure fantasy movie “9,” Pony has teamed up with Focus Features and Universal to produce a limited edition sneaker celebrating the movie which opens in theaters nationwide on 9/9/09. This marks the 2nd collaboration for Focus Features involving a footwear company to promote their movie, the first being the Coraline Nike Dunks . The Limited Edition Stitchpunk Sneaker, also known as simple as the “9″ shoe is inspired by the film’s on-the-move “stitchpunk” characters. Pony has designed the shoe made from burlap and makeshift materials to represent the fabrication of the brave “9″ beings. A zipper, mismatched eyelets, twine shoelaces and neon green “electricity” accents are just some of the intricate surprises that re-create the vision of the fantasy film. With only 99 pairs to be made available, the 9 Shoe is sure to be a sensation and a collector’s item. The limited-edition run will be distributed via an online sweepstakes in conjunction with retailer Hot Topic. The shoes will be issued on September 9th, 2009 to coincide with the theatrical release of director Shane Acker’s film. Peanut Butter Wolf x Converse Chuck Taylor Hi “999″

As a symbolic token to commemorate his 999 tour, Converse has constructed a unique Chuck Taylor Hi for musical artist, Peanut Butter Wolf. Pearly white Chucks serve as the canvas, literally, for a big bad wolf drawn by James Reitano. For two years now, Peanut Butter Wolf has exerted himself via his single numeral, triple digit entitled tours in which he performs in the given numeral’s amount of area codes, in that number of nights, and ending on that day of the month in that number’s year. Sounds complicated and repetitive, right? Here’s an example, his 999 tour is the chronological sequel to both his 777 and 888 tours and will cover 9 area codes in nine nights and culminate on September 9, 2009. For those of you feeling these Chucks you have a chance, albeit a small one, to gnash your teeth or swipe your paws at one of the nine pairs available. Peanut Butter Wolf will be giving away a pair at each stop of his 999 tour and you can enter yourself into the giveaway at Stones Throw .
