With the help of SportsONESource Analyst Matt Powell , we have a detailed breakdown of the latest industry statistics, as well as the latest trends in footwear sales and market share position. Some key highlights include Nike’s Women’s division once again suffering a decline, while Reebok and Skechers saw their Women’s sales each nearly triple. Jordan Brand also saw a mid singles decline as a result of weak releases, though it was Nike Basketball that picked up all of the remaining market share. Dive in and read along! Below, enjoy the following insights from Matt Powell himself, with key notes in bold, as he takes a look at overall footwear sales to end June 2010: Overall Footwear Sales: May, June and October are the least important months of the year for athletic footwear. And June 2010 continued that tradition, serving up three of the smallest volume weeks of the year so far. That said, the trend in June remained solid. Sales improved about 10% in dollars and in the mid singles in units, yielding a mid-single digit increase in average selling price to $51.32. No sign of deflation here. More than half the growth in June came from Toning. Men’s sales grew about 10%, while Women’s grew in the high teens. Kids’ sales declined slightly.
