Re-Moisturize Hair with WEN.

If anything good could possibly come of my migraine last night, this would be it. After the longest Saturday which started at 5:30 in the morning and didn’t end until after 10:00 at night, an end of the day shower was much needed. Feeling that my hair was in dire need of extra moisturizing help, I applied a great Hair Mask after getting out of the shower. WEN by Chaz Dean Re-Moist Hydrating Mask was my product of choice, which I usually rinse out after about an hour. After applying and combing the mask through my hair, a wicked migraine hit, so I was down for the night. Forgetting that I had a mask in my hair, I hit my pillow with the lights out for almost twelve hours of sleep.

Say Hello to Crystal!

Just over a year ago, we introduced you to Jeannie – a friend of mine and now regular contributor to The Daily Cookie. Today, I hope you’ll give a warm welcome to a new addition to our family, Crystal!  She’s coming on board to share her own personal spin on beauty and we hope you’ll love her enthusiasm for all things makeup as much as I do  Here’s a little bit about Crystal: Can I do anything besides think of beauty? I honestly don’t think so. Ask my friends and family members what it’s like to live with me and my constant chit chat about the latest summer line! I think they’ve developed a unique ability to tune out my rants and ravings! I live in Southern California with a profound passion for beauty.  Although no one believes me, I swear that I wasn’t always into makeup and hair and skincare. I didn’t moisturize or apply sunscreen! Blush? I’ve never heard of it

In The Summertime, When The Weather Is High

What does one wear for the first day of summer? Tracy Feith for Target, of course.

Summer Lipsticks

Move over gloss–we have a new favorite this summer: Lip stains. They’re not sticky or heavy and our hair won’t get glued to our lips on a windy day at the beach. One of our faves is the CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain . It basically looks like a magic marker.

Bookworm

I have sadly read fewer than five books for pleasure this school year, and yet this is what I’m heaving home for the summer. Summer vacation is only one day in, and I have already completed what must be my new favorite novel. Breakfast at Tiffany’s is a gem of a movie, but the book? Completely superior. As much as I adore Audrey Hepburn, Truman Capote is an extraordinary wordsmith who creates the most charmingly complex Holly Golightly ever.

I’d Like To Give A Shout Out To My Sister

I’d like to give a shout out to my little sis, who graduated from college today. This summer, she’ll start graduate school at Georgetown, and I’m so proud of her! This afternoon, while driving home from her graduation lunch, I marveled at Lauren’s lush lashes; so I grilled her about what mascara she was wearing. She told me that it was Maybelline’s Colossal Volum’ Express . After I complained that Colossal never gave me such a dramatic look, she let me in on her little secret. When a mascara doesn’t exactly work out for my sister, she gives it a second chance…this time, using the disposable mascara wands from Sephora . “They make even drugstore mascaras look like a million bucks.” My sister is so smart, y’all. Look out, Georgetown! Photo: Getty Images

Mario Dedivanovic, Kim Kardashian’s Makeup Artist, Just Started A Blog!

Happy Saturday, sexy mamacitas! It’s no secret that I hold a torch for Kim Kardashian’s makeup. So it was a total treat to learn that Mario Dedivanovic, Kim’s talented MUA, just started a blog today. That’s right… today . I’m quick. When it comes to Kim-related news, I don’t mess around. For his first post, Mario shared the recipe for one of his favorite looks he ever created for Kim .

The Story Behind Bio Oil

Last week, Bio Oil hosted a luncheon for top beauty bloggers, where we learned about the origin of the product, its uses, and why it actually is pretty darn unique. The lunch/lecture was presided over by the absolutely fantastic Dr. Ilyse Lefkowicz, a NYC-based dermatologist, who explained Bio-Oil is made from PurCellin Oil, a recreation of the preen gland oil of ducks

Win a Trip to Barbados

We keep hearing about Barbados these days–Jet Blue is starting service there in the fall, our friend Carolyn just got back, and now Lands’ End is introducing its “swimwear island” with a chance to win a trip to Barbados. The interactive island offers a “getaway from swimwear shopping as you know it” and we gotta admit–it sure beats a too bright dressing room! The cute pop ups guide you towards suits that slim, performance suits, separates and the resort collection. Our favorite is this sexy one-shoulder number . To sweeten up the deal, Lands’ End is offering free shipping between now and May 25 with the following: Promo Code = ISLAND PIN = 5262

This Weekend’s To Do List!

Things to check out this weekend: 1. The “Model as Muse” exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, if you’re in NYC this weekend. I’m running there in a few minutes with Sandy Linter. I’m sure she’ll know some behind-the-scenes dish on more than a few photos! I’ll report back next week. (I also need to ask her about the lilac lip liner she loves
