Nike Zoom Vapor 9 Tour – Design & Inspiration

NIKE ZOOM VAPOR 9 TOUR – DESIGN &  INSPIRATION words // Brandon Richard via Press Release As the new signature shoe for 16-time Grand Slam Champion Roger Federer, the Nike Zoom Vapor 9 Tour is a unique package from any other tennis shoe out. The new model combines the lightweight, breathable comfort of a running shoe with the strength necessary to withstand aggressive, lateral, stop and-start forces that serious tennis players create. Designed more like a runner, it’s equipped with incredible strength and lockdown fit to meet the demands of tennis. The innovative fit system features “fingers” on the side panels and a loop system within. When laces are cinched tight, the “fingers” mold to the shape of the wearer’s foot. The result is a customized fit that adapts to the foot motions during a match. Wrapping the laces all the way to the bottom of the arch further enhances the glove-like feel and a synthetic-leather quarter panel overlay adds to the firm fit. Keeping the foot cool is lightweight mesh throughout the shoe. A TPU foot frame from the midfoot to heel delivers stability and protection during the quick slides and directional changes of a competitive match. Rubber overlays in high-wear areas improve durability.

Middle School Does The Right Thing, Bans Ugg Boots

Have you ever wished Ugg boots would just go away? The good folks at Pottstown Middle School in Pottstown, PA have, but unlike most people, they didn’t just fantasize longingly about burning all the students’ Ugg boots in one big bonfire. They fucking got off their asses and did something about it . Okay, so they didn’t actually ban the boots due to fashion concerns, but because students were using them to sneak cell phones into class. Still, it’s a step in the right direction. The ends justify the means. Or is it the other way around in this case? The new policy on Uggs (and fake Uggs) reads: Students may continue to wear outdoor boots to and from school to protect them from cold, snow and ice but need to change into a pair of sneakers or shoes before entering homeroom. Students may also continue to wear lace up, tight at the ankle, boots, shoes and high top sneakers. Naturally, some parents and students were incensed at this action and left angry comments on the local newspaper’s Facebook page.

Friday Style Icon: Dorothy Parker (With Bonus Obscure-ish Quotes)

A lot of people know that Dorothy Parker was a famous wit. A lot of people don’t know that in her youth, at 4’11, she was also considered a snappy style icon. Another thing a lot of people don’t know? That she and Robert Benchley subscribed to undertaker trade magazines and then cut them up and added jokes to make their own magazine From Grave To Gay! Why is this not a magazine that exists right now? Fine. Change the word “gay”. Fine. Other than that. Why don’t you start it? Why don’t you dress like Dorothy Parker, find a platonic male best friend who is equally funny and go off and do things?

Kate Middleton Named ‘Hat Person Of The Year’

Right off the bat, I’d like to get out of the way the fact that that is the most awkward name for an award ever. “Hat Person of the Year?” “Hat Person?” Regardless, the honor was given to the Duchess of Cambridge by The Headwear Association , whose tagline is “Promoting hats and headwear awareness worldwide.” The association has given the title in the past to Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt, but we have to agree that Kate really outshone everyone this year as far as headwear excellence. A title well-conferred. Here are the looks that won her the spot: Related posts: Banana Republic’s Knockoff Of Kate Middleton’s Dress Is Not As Good As The Original Middletons Upset Other Rich People By Taking Over Caribbean Island Happy Birthday, Kate Middleton! Space-Inspired Fashion For Our Future Moon Colony

In case you haven’t heard, GOP member Newt Gingrich wants to put a colony on the moon . Why should the most powerful country in the world have to hitch a ride to the moon with the Russians? According to Gingrich we shouldn’t. Not only should we not be looking for free shuttle rides into outer space, we should also establish a moon colony. If we’re not colonizing other planets, then what sort of Americans are we? Who cares if we have a $1.2 trillion deficit, as long as we get to the moon “before the Chinese!” Newt’s words, not mine. While we’ve determined that, personally, we probably wouldn’t want to live on the moon because it would not only be dreadfully dark, but that whole lack of gravity thing might be an issue if someone decided to crack a hole in the outer casing of our moon colony, we thought we might find some appropriate attire for those of you who might want to set up shop there and start a life for yourselves. A week’s vacation to the moon might be fantastic, but having to colonize, breed and establish permanent residency might be a bust.
